Ekphrasis is the interpretation of one art medium through another, the purpose of which is to provide the person experiencing the art one more way through which to access it. Ekphrastic poetry is a lot of fun for both the poet and the reader because it offers an opportunity to capture in words what one derives from the artwork itself. Ginny has chosen an intriguing piece to work with: van Gogh's colorful and provocative "Wheat Field with Crows."
