It hurts at times
To verbalize,
What truly goes on Deep inside,
It hurts at times
To realize,
That all you speak,
Are nothing more but lies
It hurts at times,
To sympathize
With those that refuse to realize,
That there are those out there,
That recognize,
The battles waging,
Deep inside,
But it's only a matter of time,
Before you realize,
That the one(s) who really care about you,
Are right before,�

My sister is the fisherman in the family; so she'll enjoy and relate to this poem on a whole different level than I; I'd be content to just sit in the boat and admire the osprey! This is a deceptively simple poem; read it several times and the power of those two middle verses--the exquisite description of the bird's movements--will leave you almost breathless.   We've been trying for some time now to implement a way for you to comment on poems. We think we've finally done it, but it may take a few days to work out the kinks, so please bear with us if things are a little out of kilter at first. So many of you take time to send me reactions or thoughts on the daily poems; now you'll have a chance to share those with the whole YDP family, if you like.
