Meant for Me
by Daytonight

You are the only one I see,
You are the one that heaven meant for me,
For surely you were sent down from above,
For me and me only to cherish and to love,
I love you ever so much
And long to be able to reach out and touch
Your dear and precious face
And feel the warmth of your embrace.

DarkPoetry Poem of the Day: Duct Tape Engineer

If it aint broke you ought not fix it
My pa would say,
Education is a fine thing, fancy thang for wich ya pay,
I'd thunk I learnd everything i needed ta in the barn tossing hay
But then a hunkering was a following
A black cloud that would not go away,
So I got down on my knees
To the lord ALmighty 'gan to pray
felt the lord had something
something special for me that he had to say

But if it be broke lord
please tell me true,
tell me how to fix it,
Make it good as new,
not trying to create nothin,
I'll leave that up to you.
I feel my life is fallin part
don know whata do,

Please answer my cries,
Give this lost soul a clue
I was starlted to hell,
When a voice came booming thru

"Keep it together child...
and look for the silver lining in the cloud hanging over you"

I figgered this was the the guy
Otta listen to what he said,
Put my hands to the darkness and found a silver thread
Could not fight tempation
I had to get it down

down on my head

It fell with a thump
on top of my skull
everthing was clear
the good lord had worked a miracle
...booming in my ear

"Keep it together
with this silver roll...
I now annoint thee...
a duct-tape engineer...
in-duct-ee"

I'm a duct tape engineer
roll in hand,
Aint nothin' I cant repair.
I'm the man!

I was given a gift
and that I can't deny.
Praise you Father in Heaven
...for hearin my cry

I'm a duct tape engineer
roll in hand,
Aint nothin' I cant repair.
I'm the man!

Driving crazy in the woods
Knocked off my darn mirror
But did I panic?
cuz I'm an engineer...
no sirree
Had my handy duct tape
just sittin next ta me

I'm a duct tape engineer
roll in hand,
Aint nothin' I cant repair.
I'm the man!

When the woman ets ornery
n we don know what to do
we break out the tape
and bind each other tight.
An we roll upon the hay,
late into the night
We stick together as a couple
ah, we sure do
Only problem gettin off
is gettin off the glue!

I'm a duct tape engineer
roll in hand,
Aint nothin' I cant repair.
I'm the man!

I can fix the truck
and suzie's two wheeler
even helped the woman,
fixin the tater peeler...
skins fallin in a pan
Aint nothin' I can't repair.
I'm the man!

just give me all the parts
With this gift from the lord above
Can even fix our broken hearts
an bind em with our love.

I'm a duct tape engineer
roll in hand,
Aint nothin' I cant repair.
I'm the man!

But have to admit ther,
with my muffler and my tire
they hold together better...
with bubble gum and bailin wire
