Here's your Daily Poem from the Poetry Chaikhana --
| A Cloth of Fine Gold By Dorothy Walters (1928 - ) You may think that first lit flame was the ultimate blaze, the holy fire entered at last. What do you know of furnaces? This is a sun that returns again and again, refining, igniting, pouring your spirit through a cloth of delicate gold until all dross is taken and you are sweet as clarified butter in god's mouth. / Photo by rasvan.dovici /

Hi Omss -
Isn't this poem... delicious? Maybe it's just that it reminds us how we ourselves become delicious.
pouring your spirit
through a cloth of delicate gold
until all dross is taken
and you are sweet as
clarified butter
in god's mouth.
Each time I return to the poetry of Dorothy Walters, I find a new moment of bliss...

Your Generous Response...
I have to take a few moments to tell you how profoundly moved I am by everyone's responses to Wednesday's note. It is not an easy thing for me to so openly talk about the physical and energetic challenges I work with or to mention my recent financial concerns. So the outpouring of so many thoughtful notes and emails has touched me in a deep way. I've received emails of love and concern, commiseration and stories of your own health journeys, dozens of diet and health recommendations, work questions, book-writing suggestions -- and many generous donations. Wow!
At the rate donations are coming in, it looks as if it may become possible for me to continue to focus on the Poetry Chaikhana, even with the drop in income in my day job.
I am trying to thank everyone individually, but to the Poetry Chaikhana community in general -- thank you all for your donations and your kind thoughts. You make the Poetry Chaikhana possible. And I'll do my best to continue to honor your gifts.
Much love to everyone,
Ivan
