How to Install Remote Desktops

by Ty Arthur

It can be pain to go back and forth between several different computers on your home or office network, especially if you frequently move between different sites. If you need to install programs on all of your computers or want to be able to access files on a different computer, you can use a remote desktop solution. All you need to do is install the remote desktop software on both computers and then create a password so that only you can access the first computer from any other Internet-connected PC.

DarkPoetry Poem of the Day: Transparency

It hurts at times
To verbalize,
What truly goes on Deep inside,
It hurts at times
To realize,
That all you speak,
Are nothing more but lies
It hurts at times,
To sympathize
With those that refuse to realize,
That there are those out there,
That recognize,
The battles waging,
Deep inside,
But it's only a matter of time,
Before you realize,
That the one(s) who really care about you,
Are right before,
Your very eyes.

Your Poem for July 31 2010

Your Daily Poem logo

My sister is the fisherman in the family; so she'll enjoy and relate to this poem on a whole different level than I; I'd be content to just sit in the boat and admire the osprey! This is a deceptively simple poem; read it several times and the power of those two middle verses--the exquisite description of the bird's movements--will leave you almost breathless.

We've been trying for some time now to implement a way for you to comment on poems. We think we've finally done it, but it may take a few days to work out the kinks, so please bear with us if things are a little out of kilter at first. So many of you take time to send me reactions or thoughts on the daily poems; now you'll have a chance to share those with the whole YDP family, if you like. Of course, you can continue to send them just to me, as well--or free to start up a discussion on Twitter!

How to Arrange a Wedding Bouquet

How to Arrange a Wedding Bouquet

by Suzie Faloon

Your wedding is in the planning stages and you want to make it special. You can make your own, using a unique wedding bouquet with an heirloom Bible or book of poetry. Perhaps you have the New Testament that your great grandfather had in World War II or the Bible your mother carried in your parents' wedding. You can arrange a wonderful wedding bouquet with a treasured book and beautiful flowers. If you use fresh flowers, you can dry the arrangement to place in a display container. If you use silk flowers, you can display it or use it as a Christmas decoration.

DarkPoetry Poem of the Day: The Soul Of Impending Doom

Above the mist of a crescent moon
Itlays in waitand is coming soon.
Like a deadly disease without a cure
A horrid nightmare for all to endure.

We abide our time with life's desire
And await the serpent with all its fire.
The gripping fear that rides sohigh
The women tremble, our children cry.

--Like the evil impression in an icy tomb,
rides the soul ofimpending doom.

To technology and greed our ideals transcend
Ourselves we have plagued to the living end.
To live or die? The time has come for all to pay
Our thoughts turn to God, on our knees we pray.

The skies grow dark and the mountains shake
We huddle in horror within destiny's wake.
A searing white flash and oureyes redden
Arise, the golden mushrooms of Armageddon!

--Like the evil impression in an icy tomb,
rides the soul of impending doom.

Had we listened to the windsof our ways
We would still be 'round to count the days.
Our bodies now wade the festering sore
And the one called man reigns no more

--We witnessed the evil in our icy tomb
and rode the soul of impending doom!

Your Poem for July 30, 2010

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I admire the devotion of committed aficianados, and Marge's poem lays it right on the line: "Without you, I would never get out of bed/
but spend my life pressing the snooze/button." How about you? Would life as you know it cease to happen without your daily infusion? (Do I dare hope poetry ever becomes that essential? :-D)

By the way, no remonstrances from grammarians, please: the title's in lower case because Marge only capitalizes the first word.
