One of the joys of a well-written poem is its many layers. Depending on your perspective, you can read and extrapolate several different stories from Lynne's poem today. Her title paints a bit of foreshadowing but, even then, it's possible to read with more than scenario in mind. It's also possible to read with no ulterior motive and just enjoy the words at face value. As the reader, you get to decide how deep you want to go when a poem offers those possibilities.
